Food was delicious. Very relaxing atmosphere and Ahmed was an excellent waiter. Very friendly and helpful. Will certainly return.

We had a great meal served very efficiently. We had lamb stew and Sheppards Pie followed by a shared rhubarb tart (wow) which were very reasonable but really good quality food. Would definitely recommend.

The man working there was very friendly & very proud of the food. He really made us feel welcome. Not often you get great service like that. He was true to his word about the home-made sheppards pie! It was delish.

We were in Kilkenny for the Kilkenomics event and hadn't tried this place. We had fish pie - delicious - and it came with a complementary dish of mussels, salad and chips. All exceptionally good and exceptionally well priced. We went back to their place next door the following day (the Bodega) and had shepherds pie and vegetarian curry and these were super too.

Good food, small town charm, great people My wife and I were stopping through Kilkenny and were looking for a nice little place to eat when we came upon Breathnachs. It seemed like its family ran and owned which was great. Everyone knew everyone in the place which was nice to see. We were recommended a few dishes that were more traditional Irish food which my wife and I requested and both of us were very pleased with the food and service! The lady assisting us at the bar was very nice and a delight to talk to! There were many big screen TVs in the place so if you needed to catch your local sports then this is a great place to visit especially when you are hungry for great food as well! I will definitely return on my next trip!

Nachos to die for. My husband and I were on a bus tour of Ireland in summer 2016. The group stopped in Kilkenny for lunch and we stopped in for lunch. Fantastic experience! The waitress was pleasant and the restaurant was clean. We shared an order of steak nachos - best I have ever had. There were so many types of food stacked in the pile. We barely finished it. Good prices; right in the middle of town.

Stopped by here while on vacation with my family and we had the best time. Not only was the service excellent but also all the customers there were very friendly and all in all welcoming. We plan on not only returning to Ireland in the near future but making sure to stop at Breathnachs Bar for a pint or 2 when we stop in Kilkenny. If you're looking for a great place to stop in and have some drinks, this place has to be on your list, cheers!

Great food, great staff, great music (live acts) what's not to love? One of Kilkenny's hen destinations for a reason.

We had a great experience in Breathnachs on Saturday night. We had organised for a large group of us for dinner for my friend's hen party. The staff in Breathnachs were very easy to communicate with prior to the meal and were very helpful with any questions we had. The restaurant area upstairs is modern, comfortable and has a really nice atmosphere. The food was great and the wine was reasonably priced. By far the best part of our experience was the welcoming and helpful nature of all the staff. We had an absolutely lovely time and I wouldn't hesitate in coming back again. I would 100% recommend. Thanks again!
